Well (in case you are brain dead and you know NOTHING about the demo scene in ENGLAND) TRIAD DEVELOPMENTS are a new group to the Speccy who have been set up following the recent demise of THE KNIGHTS last month (July 1993). The Liberal Democrats have just won yet another bielection from the Conservatives and John (I'm really interesting really... No. Wait. Don't go away....) Major is by far the MOST unpopular Prime Minister we've ever had! Yet, even in the face of this defeat, he still refuses to withdraw the proposal of putting VAT on domestic fuel bills (and yes I realise that companies pay VAT on fuel but they claim it back from the IR). But, apart from the fact that the Conservatives implicitly said in thier '92 election manifesto that they were not going to alter VAT and they have, it is also TOTALY unfair to pensioners and the financiall disadvantaged! Hi! So you made it I see. Well I hope you enjoy this demo! I started coding it at 23:42 on 02-08-1993 and finished it at 08:45 03-08-1993 (which is less than one days work). Now (as is usual with one of my demos) we have the "What I Used To Make This Demo" section of the scroll: HARDWARE 1 Ferguson Monitor, 1 Tandy DMP 106 Printer, 1 ZX Spectrum (Plus 2), 1 Kempston Centronics E interface, Some Paper, Loads of COFFEE, 1 Red Pen, 1 Black Pen, 1 Flowchart Stencil, 1 Flowchart Stylus, 1 0.5mm Pencil and me (The Coder). Yes folks. That's right. It's time, yet again, for the 8*8 ATTRibute text scroller. Complete with the colour selection keys. Which means if you want this text to be in a different colour press the appropriate colour key. ie 1 = BLUE, 2 = RED etc. The pattern underneath this scroll was origionally going to be animated but the effect was rather pitiful so was not included. You were also going to be able to alter the pattern but there wasn't enough memory to allow 48K users with AY sound box to use this demo. Maybe in a 128K update eh? NB. This is ONLY A MAYBE! OK. As readers of "ALCHNEWS 9" (see scroller in part 1 for details) will know, I am starting up a PASCAL user group. If you own this language and would like to join this group (bi-monthly news sheet (1/2 page A4) and quarterly TAPE-INE) then send a SAE and a BLANK C15/C30/C60 cassette tape to: PUG, c/o TRIAD DEVELOPMENTS, 74 HUNTER ROAD, HILLSBOROUGH, SHEFFIELD, ENGLAND, S6 4LF. and I'll send you the details as a PROGRAM file on your tape! OK. Regular readers of the scrolls and screen in my demo will note that I was looking to purchase certain hard to get utilities! I am now on the look-out for the following titles: PCG's DTP package, WORDMASTER & TYPELINER (by CARDEX), Z80 TOOLKIT (by LERM), EX-BASIC (by COMPANION SOFTWARE), HI-SOFT "C", ANY GFX PACKAGES and ANY ASSEMBLERS/DISASSEMBLERS/MONITORS. If you can help me with the aquisition of any of the afore mentioned programs then please drop me a line with your terms and I'll get straight back in touch with my reply. Oh yeah. Can anybody out there in Speccyland send me a copy of the instructions to the "KEMPSTON CENTRONICS "E" PRINTER INTERFACE" (and also if any program files are required to allow the dumping of screens to a EPSON compatible printer (even better if you can supply a copy of the program files needed))? The first 3 (THREE) people who send me the relevant information will receive a C-60 cassette tape FULL of European Demos (as well as a place in the GREETS section of future demos that I code)! So there you have it. The reason for the name! Nearly forgot one final piece of information. All the spelling mistakes are copyright TASWORD +2 (I can actually spell correctly). So you now know what was to blame for the mistakes in previous demos by THE KNIGHTS! That is the end of this text.
